Emma Gray

Managing Director

Emma Gray is a qualified accountant and worked in both practice and industry prior to joining Mediplus in 1996 as Commercial Manager to implement both the CE Mark and Quality Management System. Emma is the daughter of Bob Urie, Mediplus’ founder and has been involved with its products and its growth since its inception in 1986 when, as a child, she would assist with the assembly of early Mediplus prototypes. She became Managing Director in 2010 when Bob moved to the role of Chairman. Emma lives in Buckinghamshire and sits on several local Chamber of Commerce policy groups as well as the Cressex Business Improvement District Board. Emma has a grown-up daughter and two cats to keep her busy alongside her friends and family as well as enjoying the theatre, the gym and Pilates when time permits.

James Urie

Global Marketing Director


James Urie joined Mediplus in 2004, firstly as Product Manager for S-CathTM System and CT3000 before becoming Marketing Manager, Sales & Marketing Director and then Global Marketing Director in 2022. James is married with three very sporty children, a dog, and lives in Buckinghamshire. He is an avid Rugby supporter and coaches his local youth team, as well as a lover of carpentry, cooking and fine foods.  James is the son of Mediplus founder Bob Urie and, like Emma, has been involved with Mediplus products and the company since his childhood.

Mark Cavill

Director of Finance

Mark Cavill joined Mediplus in 1998 as Accounts Administrator, developing into the roles of Finance Supervisor and Finance Manager, until he was promoted to Director of Finance in 2022. Mark lives in Buckinghamshire with his wife and two dogs. Outside of work, his main passion is live music photography and he travels the length of the country as a press photographer for festivals and gigs when time allows. He also enjoys the cinema, theatre and mystery/crime novels.

Tim Ward

Director of Operations

Tim Ward joined Mediplus in 2007, firstly as Project Engineer before promotion to Operations Manager in 2009 and Director of Operations in 2022.  Tim has a BEng (Hons) degree in Electronic Engineering, lives in Berkshire and has a daughter.  He is a keen cyclist and general petrol head with a particular love of two wheeled motorsport.

Phil Cook

Director of Sales

Phil Cook joined Mediplus in 2016, after 28 years in Orthopaedic Medical Device Sales & Marketing, firstly as National Sales Manager before becoming Director of Sales in 2022.  Phil lives in the Cotswolds with his wife and three children.  He is a lover of music and art and an ex-musician as well as a writer, reviewing music for a popular online culture magazine for a number of years, in his spare time, prior to joining Mediplus.
