Mediplus takes another step towards reducing plastic waste

At Mediplus, we believe innovation extends beyond product development. Sometimes, the most meaningful improvements come from taking a closer look at the details.

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we have redesigned the packaging for our POPY™ pessaries to reduce unnecessary plastic use while maintaining the high standards of quality, usability, and accessibility that healthcare professionals rely on.

Our updated packaging now incorporates recycled plastic materials and a more streamlined design, helping to minimise environmental impact without compromising the user experience.

While this may seem like a small change, the cumulative impact is significant. Every month, the new packaging design saves:

• ♻️ 2.9kg of plastic
• ♻️ 2,500 plastic bags from entering the supply chain

Over a 12-month period, this equates to approximately 30,000 fewer plastic bags being used.

Sustainability is not always about dramatic transformation. Often, it is achieved through continuous evaluation, thoughtful design, and incremental improvements that deliver meaningful results at scale.

By reviewing our packaging processes, we identified opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce material usage, and make more responsible choices without affecting product performance.
